We want to acknowledge people whose work was particularly
important to the development of Modelzilla. Of course many
people contributed from behind the scenes, such as the developers
of JAVA and tax payers, but here we are noting the more unique, famous or personally
known contributors.
-
Sven Goethel wrote GL4Java, which is how we do the 3D
graphics. GL4Java is a wrapper of OpenGL, a 3D graphics library.
The JAVA developer community is much in the debt of Mr. Goethel,
and the people that worked on GL4Java's predecessors.
-
Bill Hibbard and his group wrote VisAD, a math and file i/o
library for volume visualization, used by GridZilla.
-
Kurt Moesslacher spent a lot of time beta testing CAD-Zilla.
His comments and enthusiasm inspired much work and many improvements.
Kurt invented the KM-Flashlight feature of Modelzilla.
-
Jean-Luc Pellequer and Mike DiDonato spent allot of time testing
Vincent Van Mol, and showed an enthusiasm that helped propel
the project along.
-
Garrett Morris thought of the name Modelzilla. He may
have originally wished it to be called Modzilla, but I believed
we needed to emphasize the word "model" more clearly. Close enough!
-
Victoria Roberts encouraged alot of progress, and gave the first
third party demo of Modelzilla and company. She also came up with the name
Vincent van Mol.
-
Rosa Cardoso made it well understood how hard to use the VVM interface
is to use (or was, before about 6-20-03).
-
Doug Daniels pointed out alot of problems in GridZilla, and actually
demoed it for the lab. Thanks alot Doug.
